Yesterday, November 4th 2008 is a day that will live in infamy. Barak Hussein Obama was elected the President of the United States of America and a filibuster proof majority has taken over the Senate. The House of Representatives is of the same ruling party providing not even a hint of a "balance of power". As I said in my last posting, I believe that this man is the anti-christ that will usher in the war of Armegeddon and the second coming of Christ. First, the economic times are right. The anti-christ is a great orator, the "father of lies", and he will save the world, (not just the U.S.) from economic disaster. For this he will be praised to the point of worship. It is worth noting that at least one preacher has already anointed him the "messiah". I saw the broadcast on Fox News with my own eyes! Second, the war is supposed to start in the Middle East, and indeed it already has. Third, Israel had to be a nation. Remember Israel was not a Nation until 1948. Most thought it impossible for Israel to be reborn after the great dispersion by the Roman Empire that sent the Jews into every Nation on earth, but they somehow maintained their bloodline and identity refusing to assimilate into other cultures. Today Israel is fighting to hold on to Jerusalem in the hopes of rebuilding the Temple on the temple mount currently occupied by the Dome of the Rock, one of the holiest sights in the Muslim religion. Once they accomplish this, Barak will enter into the Holy of Holies and declare that he is God, desecrating the temple. The anti-christ will insist that everyone take the "mark of the beast" without which a person will not be able to buy, sell or trade. Thanks to RFID technology patented in 1973, we are already moving to a cashless society and the National ID act will force everyone to receive a rfid chip.
In an article by Scott Grannaman I learned, " Visa is combining smart cards and RFID chips so people can conduct transactions without having to use cash or coins. These smart cards can also be incorporated into cell phones and other devices. Thus, you could pay for parking, buy a newspaper, or grab a soda from a vending machine without opening your wallet. This is wonderfully convenient, but the specter of targeted personal ads popping up as I walk through the mall, a la Minority Report, does not thrill me." The writing is on the wall, people, so WAKE UP!
Christians got the heads up in the book of revelations centuries ago, but until now most of what was prophesied seemed incomprehensible. Now it is upon us and if you would like to know more I strongly urge you to read Hal Lindsey's "The Late Great Planet Earth". For the atheists in the crowd, the documentary "Zeitgeist" might be more to your liking. You can find a free download on www.tv-links.cc/documentary/zeitgeist.htm. It is here, it is now and you have been forwarned. I suggest that you refuse to be chipped and that you fight to have the Real I.D. Act of 2005 repealed.
God Bless us all and may God Bless America

Politics
Have you been watching the presidential campaigns? If so, you have probably noticed that it is getting scary. I am a nationalist and would love to come home and take care of our own for a change, so naturally I voted for Ron Paul in the primaries. Of course I knew he didn't stand a chance because nobody, that isn't in one of the two major parties, has a chance in this country. After looking at the remaining candidates, my views are most closely aligned with John McCain's and I do like Sarah Palin. My vote this year won't really be for them, as much as it is a vote against Barak Obama. If it makes you Democrats feel any better, I fully expect to lose this election. Barak will bring change to America and suffer we will. The next 4 years promise to be truly painful as money looses the rest of it's value and we are taxed out of existence. If I am wrong and Obama is able to save the world from economic collapse, then I will assume we have finally met the long awaited and dreaded anti-christ referred to in Revelations. I think Barak Obama hates this country and everything we stand for and yes, he intends to change it. I will be sad for the suffering we will endure, but I am glad because I look forward to the end. I've always wanted to see Jesus come in a chariot of fire. Like most, I dread the final judgement day, for I have plenty to account for and it ain't pretty, still, let's get on with it. It promises to put things aright and who can oppose that?

Giving Up
Giving up or letting go is admitting defeat and to a fighter like me that doesn't come easily. Everybody experiences set backs and few accomplish anything without having to navigate obstacles. I think that holding on to your dreams and visions for the future is part and parcel of why we are here. It is our solemn obligation to answer our calling... to co-create, especially if we hold to the tradition that we are "born in the image and likeness of God". As mere mortals we are humbled by the truth that we are never really creators, but only co-creators who must rely on God or "universal intelligence" or a "higher power" in order to achieve anything worthwhile. Some would say this is nonsense...that we are sufficient unto ourselves. I can only hold to my own truths and respect them for holding to theirs. I'm happy to admit that beyond the argument of St. Thomas Aquinas which points to the intelligence in the universe as proof of an intelligent designer, I have no eloquent arguments to proffer. My experience tells me that I am part of something much larger than myself and if I am open and honest than I stand to gain a great deal from what life has to offer. For me the brass ring is wisdom. It is the journey into knowing, understanding and ultimately co-creating love and peace. Embracing it can be a real blast.

Blessings of Today
It is a beautiful sunny day in Southern California. Outside my window, the birds are singing, and all is well in my world. It is amazing to me all the gifts I have received through no merit of my own. Though the outside world is at war, you wouldn't know that in the serenity of my back yard...and that is the point. Why do some people wake up to hell, pain or any number of disasters and I wake up to this? I kissed my husband goodbye this morning and I have every reason to believe that he will return home safely tonight. My daughter is still slumbering though it is almost 10 A.M. and my sons are doing who knows what 700 miles away in school in San Francisco. No news is good news I guess. I have been blessed. I enjoyed my childhood, I had great parents and I have terrific brothers and sisters...seven of them to be exact. We have the ability to pay our bills on time and, most importantly, I have my faith. Will it sustain me in times of trial? It has so far...let's just hope my good fortune holds up for awhile longer. And I promise, I'll keep the rest of you in my prayers because I don't take any of this for granted. Oh...and thank you, God. Have a great day.

Education in America
I recently read an article about the fact that about 50% of our kids aren't graduating from high schools, particularly in the inner cities. Duh! Would you want to go into a war zone everyday to learn from a frustrated teacher who is forced to accommodate every learning type (i.e. visual, auditory, ADD, ADHD, disabled ect.) not to mention every non-english speaking illegal immigrant that enters their classroom. Teachers have no authority in their own classrooms and what's worse is the students are actually handed a "students bill of rights", a tool often used to threaten teachers by those they are entrusted to educate. Don't even get me started on what we pay them...in Los Angeles, the computer system was so screwed up they were loosing their homes because their paychecks were getting lost in the system.
Well intentioned parents will do back flips to keep their kids out of these "poor" districts, and those who can't will seek alternatives such as a district transfer, moving altogether, home schooling or charter schools. I've tried all of them...private, home schooling and charter schools and I live in the suburbs! The schools are overcrowded and bullies and thugs roam the hallways. Perhaps it is because the use of our public school system is considered a "right" instead of a "Privilege". My grandmother had no more than an eighth grade education, because she had to go to work to help support her 11 brothers and sisters. My mother rued the fact that she never got to go to college. Today, even receiving a high school diploma is no guarantee that you can put an intelligible sentence together. Gone are the days that kids were happy to go to school just to get out of laboring in the field or factories. Now if a kid isn't in school they are making a killing selling drugs, or just killing depending on if you are in a gang or not. If you aren't into selling drugs, you are probably into taking them. Our kids are home playing video games and having sex while their parents (both of them or all four of them sometimes...in cases of divorce) are out busting their butts to keep a roof over their heads and to keep them in the latest fashion, gaming system, or new cell phone. These things come in handy when trying to organize a kickback with the in crowd.
Which brings me to the real problem...THE PARENTS! Face it folks, the nuclear family went out with birth control and abortion. When women mastered their biology, they fled from the home and into the workforce...who wouldn't given the choice. Homemakers aren't revered in our society, and motherhood in the modern era is a nightmare. I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but the truth is that when women abdicated their role in the family, there was nobody there willing to pick up the ball. The men sure as heck weren't interested. What with all that inconsequential sex to be had, who had time for staying at home and running a household full of rug rats? So divorce sky rocketed, families blended, everyone is looking to be somebody to everybody else, and the kids suffered. Surprise, surprise! Maybe these changes are evolutionary and it will all work out in the end. Guess we aren't really reaping what we have sown... no, we are just in a sticky stage in the evolutionary process right? The problem is, I'm not sure we aren't de-evolving because we've become selfish. We think sacrificial giving is stupid and the Christianity is limiting and outmoded. God is dead. What did you think would happen, Silly?

Time For a Change.
As I approach my mid-fifties, I tend to reflect on life quite a bit. I see changes that are exciting in the field of Religion, where the image of a loving God "father/mother" is replacing the image of God as a scorekeeper- watching with anger and disgust as you rack up sins that assure you will never be worthy of being with Him in heaven. I recently read a book called "Into The Light" by Dr. John Lerma. It is about people who have shared their "pre-death" experiences with Dr. Lerma who is the medical director of a hospice in Texas. There are quite a few commonalities in the accounts in the book, one of which is the experience of angels or deceased loved ones appearing to the dying patient around 4 weeks prior to their death. The book reinforced my belief in an afterlife, but more importantly in the idea that we come into this existence with a mission which we will complete to a greater or lesser degree according to how much we were able to love ourselves and others. That is the evolutionary path we travel and it requires a willingness to grow and change CONSTANTLY.
There are great changes occurring in technology and communications as well. The youth are into it full tilt, but I'm just trying to keep up as evidenced by this blog which I started only a few days ago. Blogging is a funny thing. I don't know why others do it, but I can tell you why I started. I feel like a failure. Thats right, I have always believed that I should leave the world a better place than I found it, but to my dismay, I haven't a thing to leave of my own making other than words and ideas, most of which will never get published, or read. I have 3 beautiful adult children who managed to stay alive until their eighteenth birthday without ending up in prison. But I take no credit for making children, that was all God's doing. I take no credit for raising them because that was a constant shipwreck and I was just holding on for dear life. But my kids, like most kids today have quite a bit of technical know-how. They communicate through text and instant messaging. They all have a "my space" page. My boys have super dexterous thumbs from playing video games. I have discovered a downside to this advancement however, they have retarded their physical development. Too many hours in front of an electronic box does not make for healthful living. Their spiritual development was retarded a long time ago when they decided there was no God ergo no reason to pray. They did adopt a Taoist philosophy and claim to meditate, but I'm not sure they are truly engaging in spiritual self improvement, and that concerns me. We are after all, body, mind and spirit and neglecting one area leaves a person out of balance. My personal downfall is the body part, so I choose not to judge them too harshly. Another technological advancement that I really like is the podcast and stream links. I can listen to my favorite programs at my own pace. One of my favorite is Coast to Coast with George Norey. I find the show mentally stimulating and at my age I need all the stimulation I can get.
Another inevitable change that comes in middle age is sagging...EVERYTHING in my case, due to laziness. I'm always amazed at the energy level in children and wonder why it is wasted on the young. I'm too tired to workout on a regular basis, and good food is part social, part taste and I'll be damned if I'm giving that up. You know, that is one question I am going to ask God when I croak...Why not let kids sleep and adults bounce of the walls...or cliffs or whatever suits them?. I also have a constant battle with unwanted hair. I suppose if I were more evolved I'd just embrace these changes, but I live in a society that worships youthful appearance so I'm inclined to be concerned about that...and if by chance I let it go, my kids are sure to raise a fuss about it. I don't want to embarrass them, so my plan is to move deep into the woods where I can retire and deteriorate under a less critical gaze. Still when I look in the mirror lately I am more likely to see my mother looking back at me than myself.
CHANGE... it may not be graceful but it is inevitable so why not enjoy the ride. It can be a BLAST!

"Law and Order"...racism at it's finest!
I watched "Law and Order" tonight and once again I was blown away by the blatant racism on American television. The episode featured the story of a white woman who encouraged her sons to stand up for themselves when their basketball was stolen by a black kid at a neighborhood park. The sub-story was that affluent people (presumably the "bad" white folks) were moving into a black impoverished neighborhood in the name of rejuvenating the inner city. I assume the idea was to rid the city of criminal elements, but the way it was played out, poor people were being displaced by rich people and somehow that was an injustice. I guess only poor people are allowed to live in U.S. cities... Or perhaps they are ENTITLED to live there because they have managed to chase everyone else away. Anyway, this woman drove the three white kids back to the park to retrieve their ball, but expecting that the thieves might have knives,(ya think? It's only the inner city!) she told her boys to arm them selves with baseball bats. When they arrive at the court the boy who STOLE their basketball claimed he didn't have it and one of the white boys began to chase him with the baseball bat. (Bad Move) The father of the thief saw his son being chased by the kid with a bat and he did what any self respecting black, impoverished American would do...he pulled a gun and shot the assailant killing an innocent bystander in the process. (apparently being impoverished doesn't preclude one from amassing the funds necessary to procure a firearm) Now the white D.A. decides to try the white mother who told her kids to stand up to bullies with baseball bats, and the black father who shot them to ostensibly protect his son, THE THIEF, in the same court on the same day before the same jury. Ahhh, Solomon in all his wisdom couldn't have planned it better. And in the end, they both receive identical sentences. It seems that NBC would have us believe that standing up to a bully is as egregious an offense as killing one. The suggested response to a bully, according to this program, would be to go to the authorities with the problem. That one really got me laughing. I live in a suburb of Los Angeles and if I walked into the police station to complain that a kid on a public basketball court stole my kids basketball, I'd get laughed out of the station. In all honesty I wouldn't send my kid into a predominantly black neighborhood to confront a bully with a baseball bat. In a sane world I'd want to confront the kid or his parent myself but I'd be afraid to in a predominantly black, thug infested neighborhood. Teenagers rightfully hate it when mommy gets involved, so I'd probably stand by feeling helpless and watch them do what any self respecting white kid would do in that situation. Leave the public park to the gangs and find or build a safe court somewhere else. Of course then we'd be racist for having a more exclusive basketball court. The truth is that programs like this do little to ease racial tensions because they focus on race and socioeconomics and fail to look at the real cause of the problem. Law abiding people have no defense against criminals who are "lawless". The police are ill-equipped and disinclined to act until blood is shed or life is lost. That is the brutal truth. The problem isn't black or white or brown or rich or poor...it is navy blue and wears a shield. It is a broken legal system and it is a National media that instigates and perpetuates the hatred every chance it gets. Face it America, poverty is a problem for every ethnicity, and if we don't quit thinking in color and start thinking and acting with integrity the only "Law and Order" we'll ever see is what the television is dishing out, and that is one foul tasting dish.
